Assignment 1: Word Art

Outcome: Investigate and identify how arts expressions can challenge thinking about values, ideas, and beliefs. CR9.3

1. Select fonts which complement each other and justify these choices based on predetermined criteria.
   
2. Combine varieties of type with images to produce an effective message.
   
3. Create an illustration through the manipulation of type.

Your job is to create a type based image. This image will be of a word of your choice, however you will treat your letters as graphic images. Each image should relate to each other and compliment the whole image. Your outcome is asking you to communicate a message that challenges thinking about values, ideas, and beliefs.

Once you choose your value, idea or belief you need to create the graphic image for it. When you have your word and your idea for your image have me come over and you can explain it to me before you start.

To create your image think of it as a colouring book. Create the shape of your letters and then go and illustrate images inside each letter that help tell your story.

When you are finished you need to add your final image plus the exported video of your drawing to your blog. Videos work best if you place them on YouTube first. You also have to fill out a self reflection for this assignment.
